We wish everyone in the crypto community a happy new year and look forward to seeing many of you on the island in 2023 For everyone who applied to visit this NYE but was unable to finalize arrangements in time we thank you for making the effort but understand the late notice, inflated flight prices and limited availability made it hard to arrange in time. We want to make a special shout out to our discord members 33ethereum#1122, tironi.eth#2694 and their families from Australia and the USA who almost finalized their bookings but ended up not being able to do so, due to work commitments and outdated passports. Each group had either 5 or 8 people, made up of couples and their children. Thanks for all your efforts to help try make it happen! However! As flights were so limited and the prices were as high as 5X the usual rate we've decided to extend the offer into January and are talking with applicants about suitable dates 🥳 Didn't apply due to the late notice? Applications Our goal was to fill capacity with groups of 4 for each villa and although the majority of applications was made up of single travelers we had a very encouraging variation of applications. Videos Of Applications Yesterday we asked applicants to send in videos of why they wanted to come, even if they already knew they couldn't make it. So we will share some videos when we get them! It was AWESOME to see some of the Satoshi Islanders talk about the project and why they wanted to come! 😍 Countries: We expected that most applications would come from Australia and New Zealand due to proximity of travel but surprisingly most of the applications came from the USA 🇺🇸USA: 27 Applicants 🇦🇺Australia: 11 Applicants 🇨🇦Canada: 7 Applicants 🇬🇧UK: 5 Applicants 🇩🇰Denmark: 4 Applicants 🇫🇷France: 4 Applicants 🇹🇷Turkey: 4 Applicants 🇿🇦South Africa: 3 Applicants 🇸🇮Slovenia: 2 Applicants 🇧🇷Brazil: 1 Applicant 🇨🇷Costa Rica: 1 Applicant 🇩🇪Germany: 1 Applicant 🇵🇷Puerto Rico: 1 Applicant 🇳🇬Nigeria: 1 Applicant 🇦🇪Dubai: 1 Applicant 🇵🇱Poland: 1 Applicant 🇮🇪Ireland: 1 Applicant Ages: The age ranges varied between applicants but the most common ages to apply did not surprise us. The youngest visitor that would have traveled with their parent applicant was just 2 years old! Range: 19 - 49 Majority: 28-35 Summary: We had a diverse group of people apply from different backgrounds and countries, most worked in the tech industry but only about half worked in the crypto industry specifically. The most common applicants were single males who work in the crypto industry, followed by female crypto enthusiasts and professionals with spouses who were less involved in crypto.
